The view opens toward the Indian Nations National Scenic and Wildlife Area, 2.9 miles north at 820 feet, and takes in a series of peaks: Post Mountain to the northeast at 4.6 miles, Blue Mountain to the north at 5.2 miles, and Potts Mountain and Standpipe Hill farther off at 11.0 and 11.6 miles respectively. Poteau lies 23.0 miles north-northeast, with Mena 32.2 miles east-southeast and Greenwood 43.5 miles northeast. Sunrise and sunset times shift with the seasons, from a 06:07 sunrise at the June solstice to a 07:23 sunrise at the December solstice, with sunset ranging from 20:36 in June to 17:13 in December. The overlook falls between Mountain Top Vista and Deadman Gap Overlook along the drive.
