Three peaks are visible: Reids Peak to the southwest at 1.4 miles and 11,708 feet, Murdock Mountain to the south at 2.6 miles and 11,218 feet, and Notch Mountain to the west-southwest at 3.2 miles and 11,228 feet. On the June solstice, sunrise occurs at 05:53 and sunset at 20:59; on the December solstice, sunrise is at 07:45 and sunset at 17:00. The equinox times fall between these, with sunrise near 07:12–07:28 and sunset near 19:22–19:36. Heber City lies 31.1 miles to the west-southwest, Park City is 32.2 miles to the west, and Snyderville is 34.3 miles to the west.
