Kelgaya point

Kelgaya point sits at 56 feet along Alaska's Marine Highway, with the land dropping 85 feet within 600 meters of the overlook. The view faces 60°, roughly toward sunrise, and takes in Mount Villard to the north-northeast, a 4,885-foot peak about 4.7 miles away. Because the orientation runs 30 degrees off square to sunrise, early light crosses the overlook at varying hours through the year—as early as 3:47 a.m. at the June solstice and as late as 8:57 a.m. at the December solstice. Skagway lies 16.8 miles to the north, Klukwan is 22.4 miles northwest, and Mosquito Lake is 32.4 miles west-northwest. Battery point is the previous lookout along the route before reaching this one.
