Lake Junaluska Overlook

Lake Junaluska Overlook sits at 5,024 feet on the Blue Ridge Parkway, with terrain dropping 455 feet within 600 meters of the pullout. The view faces east, directly toward sunrise, so morning light comes in straight along the sightline. Several peaks rise to the northeast and southeast: Setzer Mountain (5,464 ft, 2.2 mi), Campbell Lick (5,561 ft, 2.7 mi), Brown Lead (5,611 ft, 2.9 mi), Sheepback Knob (5,503 ft, 3.4 mi), and Little Bald Knob (5,653 ft, 3.6 mi), along with a more distant point labeled LR 548 (5,390 ft, 4.3 mi) to the east-southeast. Closer in, the Soco Craft & Tower Inc feature is visible east-southeast at 2.0 miles and 3,772 feet elevation, well below the overlook. Waynesville lies 10.4 miles east-southeast, with Asheville 35.2 miles east and Sevierville 32.8 miles northwest.
