Meander Overlook

Meander Overlook sits at 5,893 feet on the Dead Horse Point Mesa Scenic Byway, at mile 1 of 28. The land drops 1,111 feet within 600 meters, and the view faces south, toward Gooseneck Overlook (2.0 mi), Chicken Corners Overlook and Chicken Corners (2.6 mi), and Musselman Arch (3.2 mi). Farther south-southeast, Hatch Point and Canyonlands Overlook are visible at 5.5 miles, both above 5,850 feet. Moab lies 12.6 miles to the east-northeast, with Castle Valley beyond it at 21.3 miles and Green River 42.1 miles to the north-northwest. Sunrise and sunset shift with the season: near 05:56 to 20:47 at the June solstice, 07:34 to 17:02 in December, and close to 07:15 to 19:25 at the equinoxes. Dead Horse Point precedes this stop on the byway, and Shafer Canyon Overlook follows it. The overlook offers a fixed vantage on the mesa's edge, with the listed viewpoints and features spread across the terrain to the south and south-southeast.
