Redlands View

Redlands View sits at 4,943 feet along the Dinosaur Diamond byway, facing 30° with the land dropping 312 feet within 600 meters of the overlook. Several parks around Fruita lie to the north, including Heritage Park, Reed Park, Windsor Park, Circle Park, Civic Center Memorial Park, and Little Salt Wash Park, all within about 3.6 miles, with Triangle Park to the north-northwest at the same general distance. Fruita itself is 3.0 miles north, Grand Junction is 9.4 miles east-southeast, and Clifton is 15.1 miles east. Farther out, Basin Butte rises to the northeast at 9.1 miles, and the North Fruita Desert Open OHV Area is visible to the north at 9.7 miles. Mack Mesa appears to the north-northwest at 13.0 miles, and Corcoran Point, at 7,290 feet, is visible to the northeast at 14.0 miles. Sunrise and sunset times vary through the year, ranging from a 5:50 a.m. sunrise in June to a 7:31 a.m. sunrise in December, with sunsets between 4:56 p.m. and 8:45 p.m. depending on season. This overlook falls between Book Cliffs View and Balanced Rock View on the route.
