Farther out, Henderson Mountain appears east-northeast at 5.3 miles (2,044 ft), Bibby Mountain to the northeast at 6.1 miles (1,939 ft), and Ethan Mountain east-northeast at 6.6 miles (1,891 ft).

Because the view faces the sunrise direction, morning light crosses the scene directly; sunrise times range from 05:15 at the June solstice to 07:27 at the December solstice. Queensbury is 28.0 miles to the southeast, Glens Falls 31.5 miles south-southeast, and Hudson Falls 33.7 miles southeast. This lookout follows a stop simply labeled "view" and precedes Summit View on the byway.
