Sherman Overlook #96.A · U.S. Forest Service

Beautiful day-use overlook with picnic tables, outhouses, parking for RVs and multiple vehicles, and a short ten minute paved interpretive trail that provides scenic vistas of surrounding peaks, as well as a look into how fire helped shape the landscape. In the late fall, this site shines as the predominantly western larch forest turns gold and the pathways and parking areas looks like the yellow brick road from the Wizard of Oz. For those who might want to stay longer, Sherman Overlook Campground is adjacent to the overlook and provides trail access to the Kettle Crest National Recreation Trail system.
