Flint Mountain rises to the north-northwest at 3.1 miles (3,455 ft), with Kelley Mountain further north at 3.5 miles (3,284 ft). To the east-northeast, a cluster of higher terrain comes into view, including Devils Knob (3,850 ft) and Potatopatch Mountain (3,848 ft) around 4.6 miles out, along with Hickory Spring and the Devil's Knob Overlook at roughly 4.3 to 4.4 miles. Torry Mountain lies northeast at 4.5 miles and 2,776 feet, while Ravens Roost Overlook and Black Rock Mountain appear farther east-northeast at 5.2 and 5.3 miles respectively. Staunton is 17.9 miles to the north, Charlottesville 31.7 miles east-northeast, and Lynchburg 33.6 miles south.
