Tioga Lake Overlook sits along Tioga Road/Big Oak Flat Road at 9,698 feet, near the top of Highway 120 about one mile east of Yosemite's Tioga Pass east entrance. The terrain drops 60 feet within 600 meters of the site, in a glacier-carved valley. Tioga Peak is visible to the north-northeast, 2.0 miles away at 11,509 feet, on land managed by Inyo National Forest within the Hoover Wilderness. Mammoth Peak is visible to the south, 4.6 miles away at 12,096 feet, near Tuolumne Meadows and the northern end of the Kuna Crest; from the road its summit appears rounded and rocky. Parking at the overlook is allowed for access to the Glacier Canyon Trail. June Lake is 13.8 miles to the southeast, Mammoth Lakes is 24.8 miles southeast, and Crowley Lake is 37.2 miles southeast. Daylight hours vary by season, with sunrise at 5:36 and sunset at 20:23 near the June solstice, and sunrise at 7:10 and sunset at 16:42 near the December solstice. This roadside overlook is near the top of 120 aproximatly 1 mile east of Yosemite's Tioga Pass east entrance. With great views of this glacier carved valley, the overlook has scenic views of Tioga Lake, Mt Dana, and Tioga Peak. Parking is allowed for the Glacier Canyon Trail.

Mammoth Peak is a mountain in the area of Tuolumne Meadows, Yosemite National Park, California. The summit is a class 1-2 cross-country hike that features river crossings and boulder scrambling. The peak lies at the northern end of the Kuna Crest and is close to California State Route 120. From the road, its summit appears rounded and quite rocky. Though Mammoth Peak is not as popular as other nearby peaks, its relatively easily accessed summit affords tremendous views of Mount Gibbs, Mount Dana, and Mount Lewis.
