Windblown Fir Viewpoint

Windblown Fir Viewpoint sits at 497 feet on the byway running between the junction crossing of Gibbons Creek near Washougal and the junction at Plymouth Industrial Road, with the land dropping 485 feet within 600 meters of the overlook. The view faces 60°, roughly toward sunrise, and takes in a stretch of waterfalls and peaks to the east. Coopey Falls and Upper Coopey Falls lie east-southeast at 1.8 and 1.9 miles, followed by Angel's Rest at 2.3 miles and Foxglove Falls at 2.4 miles, both to the east. Farther east, Dalton Falls and Mist Falls sit at roughly 3.1 and 3.3 miles, with Devils Rest and Wahkeena Falls both at about 3.5 miles. Gresham is 12.3 miles to the west-southwest, while Portland and Vancouver are each about 23 miles to the west. Cigar Rock View precedes this stop on the byway, and Cape Horn Outlook follows it. Given the sunrise-facing orientation, morning light would come in low across the visible terrain, with sunrise times ranging from 05:21 at the June solstice to 07:47 at the December solstice.
