- Built in 1800–01 by Revolutionary War veteran Peter Wickerham, the inn served as a stagecoach stop on Zane’s Trace, a refuge for runaway slaves, and lodging for Morgan’s Raiders led by Gen. John Hunt Morgan on July 15, 1863.
