Bald Mountain Overlook

Bald Mountain Overlook sits at 8,786 feet along mile 19 of the 36-mile Nebo Loop Scenic Byway, facing 210 degrees. The terrain drops 564 feet within 600 meters of the overlook. To the south, Twin Knolls rises to 9,253 feet at 1.8 miles. Southwest, a line of peaks extends into view: North Peak at 4.5 miles (11,155 ft), Mount Nebo at 5.8 miles (11,936 ft), Middle Nebo Peak at 6.3 miles (11,817 ft), and South Nebo Peak at 6.6 miles (11,849 ft). Provo lies 24 miles to the north, with Orem 28.4 miles north and Lehi 35.6 miles north-northwest. The previous stop along the byway is Bald Mountain Pass and Overlook, and the next is Mt. Nebo Overlook. Sunrise and sunset vary through the year: on the June solstice the sun rises at 5:59 and sets at 20:59, while on the December solstice it rises at 7:46 and sets at 17:06. The equinox days fall in between, with sunrise near 7:15–7:31 and sunset near 19:26–19:39.
