Beaver Dam Overlook

Beaver Dam Overlook sits at mile 15 of 36 along the Nebo Loop Scenic Byway, at 8,400 feet, facing 150 degrees toward the southeast. The terrain drops 426 feet within 600 meters of the overlook. The view takes in Spencer Fork Wildlife Management Area to the southeast at 6.4 miles and Lasson Draw Wildlife Management Area to the east-southeast at 9.3 miles. Peaks visible include Cedar Knoll at 9.6 miles and Bone Yard at 10.6 miles, both to the east-southeast, along with Mount Baldy at 10.9 miles to the south-southeast and Black Hawk at 12.7 miles to the southeast. Provo lies 22.5 miles to the north, Orem 27.0 miles north, and Lehi 34.8 miles north-northwest. On the March equinox the sun rises at 07:31 and sets at 19:39; at the June solstice sunrise is 05:59 and sunset 20:59; the September equinox brings sunrise at 07:15 and sunset at 19:25; and the December solstice sunrise is 07:45 with sunset at 17:06.
