Utah Lake Overlook

Utah Lake Overlook sits at mile 17 of the Nebo Loop Scenic Byway, at an elevation of 8,459 feet. The overlook faces 210 degrees, with the land dropping 327 feet within 600 meters of the viewpoint. To the south-southwest, Twin Knolls rises to 9,253 feet at a distance of 2.9 miles. Farther southwest, a line of peaks in the Nebo range comes into view: North Peak at 5.9 miles and 11,155 feet, Mount Nebo at 7.2 miles and 11,936 feet, Middle Nebo Peak at 7.6 miles and 11,817 feet, and South Nebo Peak at 8.0 miles and 11,849 feet. Provo lies 22.9 miles to the north, with Orem 27.3 miles north and Lehi 34.8 miles north-northwest. Beaver Dam Overlook precedes this stop on the byway, and Santaquin Overlook follows. Daylight hours vary with the seasons: sunrise and sunset run from about 5:59 a.m. to 8:59 p.m. at the June solstice, narrowing to roughly 7:46 a.m. to 5:06 p.m. by the December solstice.
