Denver Basin Overlook sits at 6,164 feet along the Lariat Loop Scenic and Historic Byway, facing 120°, with the land dropping 358 feet within 600 meters of the viewpoint. From here, several named parks lie within a couple of miles: Iron Spring Park to the east-northeast at 0.9 mi, Bandimere Speedway south-southeast at 1.0 mi, Forsberg Park east-northeast at 1.2 mi, Coyote Gulch Park east-southeast at 1.6 mi, and Mount Glennon Park south-southeast at 2.3 mi. Mount Glennon itself, at 6,442 feet, rises to the south at 2.3 miles, and Whitetail is visible to the southeast at 2.5 miles. The overlook faces toward sunrise, roughly 30° off square with that direction, meaning morning light comes in low across the view; sunrise ranges from 05:34 at the June solstice to 07:19 at the December solstice. Lakewood lies 6.1 miles east-northeast, with Denver at 11.9 miles and Aurora at 17.5 miles in the same general direction. On the byway route, this stop follows Panorama Point and precedes Front Range Overlook.
