Front Range Overlook sits at 6,165 feet along the Lariat Loop Scenic and Historic Byway, facing 120 degrees toward the east-southeast. The terrain drops 359 feet within 600 meters of the overlook, giving a clear line of sight down toward the lower ground below. From this point, Forsberg Park is visible to the east-northeast at 1.3 miles (6,098 ft), Coyote Gulch Park lies east-southeast at 1.7 miles (5,847 ft), and Whitetail is southeast at 2.6 miles (5,660 ft). The facing direction looks generally toward sunrise, angled 30 degrees off square with it. Sunrise times shift through the year, from 05:34 at the June solstice to 07:19 at the December solstice, which affects how directly the sun aligns with the view depending on season. Lakewood is 6.2 miles east-northeast, with Denver further out at 11.9 miles and Aurora at 17.6 miles, all in the same direction.
