Devil's Kitchen Viewpoint

Devil's Kitchen Viewpoint sits at mile 28 of 36 along the Nebo Loop Scenic Byway, at 8,393 feet, with the terrain dropping 577 feet within 600 meters below the overlook. The view faces 210 degrees, opening across a stretch of terrain to the south and southwest. Haystack Hill rises 3.9 miles to the south at 7,310 feet, with Mahogany Hill 4.1 miles southwest at 7,842 feet. Farther out, Bradley Springs lies 6.7 miles south-southwest, Red Cliffs sits 8.7 miles south-southwest at 8,648 feet, and Triangle Ranch Wildlife Management Area is 8.9 miles southwest. The Buckskin appears 9.5 miles to the south, and Salt Creek Peak, at 9,979 feet, marks the farthest point in view at 10.0 miles south-southwest. Provo lies 29.8 miles to the north, Orem 34.2 miles north, and Eagle Mountain 38.9 miles north-northwest. The previous stop along the byway is Mt. Nebo Overlook. Daylight varies by season, with sunrise near 6:00 a.m. and sunset near 9:00 p.m. around the June solstice, and sunrise near 7:45 a.m. and sunset near 5:06 p.m. around the December solstice.
