Jonahornet

Jonahornet sits at 1,378 feet along the Hardanger byway, with the land dropping 844 feet within 600 meters of the overlook. The view faces 330°, taking in terrain to the northwest and west. Vangdalsberget naturreservat lies closest, 3.3 miles west-northwest at 596 feet. Beyond it, a series of peaks range from Vasahaugen, Hovda, and Hagardhaugen at roughly 1,270 to 1,275 feet, out to Skyrausa/Slåttenuten, Skutesnos, Mjølausa, and Hellerfjellet between 2,174 and 2,392 feet, all within 5 to 5.5 miles. Farther west, Tørvikenuten and Vesoldo reach 3,346 and 3,415 feet at distances of 5.5 and 6.0 miles. Daylight hours vary through the year: sunrise at 04:08 and sunset at 23:07 near the June solstice, compared with sunrise at 09:41 and sunset at 15:27 near the December solstice, with the equinoxes falling between these extremes. The next stop along the byway is a scenic overlook.
