A former fire lookout structure once stood here; it was removed, but the site is maintained as a viewpoint, and the first forest fire from this location was reported in 1918. The site can be reached by road via Forest Road 3040-595, a steep one-lane gravel road with turnouts, or by hiking the 3.2-mile Kloshe Nanitch Trail #882.1 from the trailhead on West Snider Road. Peaks visible from the overlook include Bigler Mountain to the southwest at 3.5 miles, Hunger Mountain to the south at 7.3 miles, Sugarloaf Mountain to the south-southeast at 13.3 miles, and Gunderson Mountain to the west-southwest at 16.3 miles. Lake Pleasant Community Beach County Park lies to the west at 12.4 miles. Forks is 16.8 miles southwest, Port Angeles is 30.0 miles east, and Neah Bay is 31.6 miles northwest. Kloshe Nanitch Observation Site · U.S. Forest Service

The first forest fire was reported from this fire lookout site in 1918. Kloshe Nanitch Lookout structure has been removed but the area is maintained as a viewpoint. On a clear day stunning views of the Sol Duc Watershed from its headwaters around Mt. Olympus as it snakes through the Sol Duc Valley to where it flows into the Pacific Ocean at LaPush.

This site is accessed by road or by hiking Kloshe Nanitch Trail #882.1 3.2 miles from the Kloshe Nanitch Trailhead on the West Snider Road. The access road, Forest Road 3040-595, is a steep one lane gravel road with turnouts. Experienced back road drivers are highly recommended.
