Looking west from an elevation of 3,250 ft (990 m), the view from Naked Creek Overlook stretches out beyond the tree line and out to the hills beyond. Nestled in the foothills below is the small town of Elkton. One of the historic buildings in the town is Jennings House. Dr. Simeon Jennings built this eight room brick structure in 1840. After the battles of Cross Keys and Port Republic, the house became a Confederate hospital where Dr. Jennings and his wife cared for injured soldiers.
