Royal Purple Overlook

Royal Purple Overlook sits at 8,139 feet along the Hells Canyon byway, at mile 43 of 196. From this point, Bonneville Mountain rises to the southwest at 1.8 miles and 8,083 feet, while West Aneroid Peak stands south-southwest at 3.4 miles, reaching 9,178 feet. Hurwal Divide is visible to the west at 4.0 miles with an elevation of 9,781 feet, and Ice Falls appears west-southwest at 4.4 miles, dropping to 7,706 feet. Additional peaks in view include Hurwal Divide Southwest, Lookout Mountain, Craig Mountain, Razzberry Mountain, and Petes Point, ranging from 4.6 to 5.3 miles distant and between 8,513 and 9,654 feet in elevation.
