Skyline Drive Summit

Skyline Drive Summit sits at 4,828 feet on the Potash-Lower Colorado River Scenic Byway, at mile 13 of 15, with the terrain facing 210 degrees and dropping 193 feet within 600 meters of the overlook. From this position, Launching Pad is visible to the south at 0.5 miles (4,640 ft), with Pothole Arch to the southwest at 2.7 miles (4,597 ft), Day Canyon Point to the west-southwest at 3.1 miles (4,517 ft), and Cable Rock to the south at 3.9 miles (4,608 ft). Moab lies 3.2 miles to the east, Castle Valley is 11.4 miles east-northeast, and Green River is 41.6 miles to the northwest. Sunrise and sunset times vary through the year: on the March equinox the sun rises at 07:23 and sets at 19:31, on the June solstice it rises at 05:55 and sets at 20:47, on the September equinox it rises at 07:07 and sets at 19:17, and on the December solstice it rises at 07:33 and sets at 17:01. Portal Overlook precedes this stop along the byway, and Where Eagles Dare Summit follows it.
