Farther out, Lane Pinnacle, Little Snowball Mountain, Wolfden Knob, Alexander Knob, Jess Knob, and Richland Knob extend the view between 2.9 and 4.3 miles across the west-northwest to west-southwest arc, ranging from 4,375 to 5,205 feet in elevation. Because the overlook faces the setting sun squarely, sunset times shift with the seasons, from 20:49 at the June solstice to 17:20 at the December solstice. Asheville lies 12.3 miles to the southwest, Hendersonville 27.0 miles south, and Greeneville 40.7 miles northwest. On the parkway route, this stop follows Lower Overlook and precedes Craggy Dome Overlook.
