Yellow Face Overlook

Yellow Face Overlook sits at 5,610 feet on the Blue Ridge Parkway, facing 210 degrees toward the south-southwest. The terrain drops 846 feet within 600 meters of the overlook. From this vantage point, Browning Knob Overlook is visible to the west at 0.6 miles, with Yellow Face peak rising to 6,029 feet to the west-southwest at 1.2 miles. Further south, Joe Mountain appears at 3.2 miles (3,474 ft) and Cope Mountain at 4.3 miles (2,993 ft). Waynesville lies 8.3 miles to the east-northeast, with Asheville 34.0 miles in the same direction; Sevierville is 37.3 miles to the northwest. On the June solstice, sunrise occurs at 06:18 and sunset at 20:52, while the December solstice brings sunrise at 07:39 and sunset at 17:24. Waterrock Knob Viewpoint and Trail precedes this overlook along the byway, and Fork Ridge Overlook follows.
