Table Rock Overlook

Table Rock Overlook sits at 2,870 feet on the Blue Ridge Parkway, facing 120 degrees with the land dropping 767 feet within 600 meters of the pullout. Four named peaks are visible: Jackson Knob to the east-northeast at 2.4 miles (3,404 ft), Dobson Knob to the southeast at 4.5 miles (3,690 ft), Graveyard Mountain to the south at 6.0 miles (2,259 ft), and Dogback Mountain to the east at 6.7 miles (3,519 ft). The facing direction looks toward sunrise, offset 30 degrees off square, which puts early light across the view; sunrise runs from about 06:13 at the June solstice to 07:35 at the December solstice, with sunset ranging from 17:19 in December to 20:48 in June. Boone is 31.5 miles northeast, Asheville is 34.3 miles southwest, and Johnson City is 36.2 miles north-northwest. The overlook falls between Deerlick Gap Overlook and The Loops Overlook along the route.
