West Yellowstone Visitor Information Center 238 words A large concrete plaza fills the area in front of this L-shaped one-story building with brown clapboard siding and multiple gable roofs. The glass double doors at the building’s entrance lie beyond a covered breezeway with its two partial side walls supported by concrete and wood pillars on each end. The exterior breezeway wall to the right of the entrance is edged in pale wood which also frames a large map labeled “West Yellowstone Historic Walking Tour.” Painted on the concrete plaza and leading toward the entrance from the right is a single line of green bear tracks; each large footprint has five toes. Hanging on the building façade between two sets of double windows located to the right of the entrance doors are two long horizontal signs that read: “Visitor Information: West Yellowstone Montana.” Affixed to the wall below these signs are three smaller emblem signs representing the “National Park Service,” “Forest Service Department of Agriculture,” and “Montana Big Sky Country.” Public restrooms are located in a separate entrance in front of and slightly to the right of the center. The restroom entrances are located on the side facing away from the center, with the women’s room on the far left and the men’s room on the far right. Wheelchair logos indicate that both restrooms are wheelchair-accessible. A small sign on each door warns us: “Caution! Watch your step. Inside floor may be slippery.” END OF MESSAGE
